About Me

I am a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Ethics AI and Society in the Department of Digital Humanities at King's College London.

Research

My current research, AI's Nature, explores the intersections of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and environmental justice. My case studies look at lithium extraction in Indigenious territory, community resistance against data centres and the use of AI-centred conservationist initiatives in Latin America.

In my previous research I explored Scientific Data Colonialism with a focus on the governance of astronomy data in Chile.

I have also written about digital sovereignty and critical data studies.

Affiliations

I am part of the International Panel on the Information Environment (IPIE) scientific group and the Tierra Común group of academics and activists.

Career

I worked as a Postdoctoral Scholar at the Centre of Governance and Human Rights (CGHR) at the University of Cambridge.

Prior to that, I earned a PhD in Data, Networks & Society from the London School of Economics (LSE) and completed a degree in Journalism at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile.
